Appeal for Funds for Walk Against The War Coalition30 January 2003The Walk Against the War Coalition is planning a huge expression of opposition against an invasion of Iraq, on Feb 16. We expect it to be much bigger than the 25,000 plus who walked on Nov 30. Speakers / performers include John Pilger (journalist), Sen Bob Brown, Laurie Brereton MHR, a Democrat Senator, John Howard (actor), Rev Ray Richmond, and more …. Prominent leaders of all communities are being invited to lead the march, which will do a circuit of the city and return to Hyde Park North. We plan for a short sit-down to express our determination to stop this war. Let’s be heard loud and clear in Canberra, Washington and London! This war is wrong.
Funding again is urgently needed. We are appealing to unions, churches, peace and community organisations and individuals through sponsorship and donations for 2003, and thank those who did so for 2002. Our budget is aprox $20,000. (Nov 30 cost $22,000, but we raised $27,000 altogether - $22,000 on the day). Your support and participation is important. Please fill out the form below and return with a cheque asap. Yours sincerely, Peter Murphy I / We wish to sponsor / donate to the Walk Against The War Coalition for 2003.
