Doug Everingham supports Walk Against the War

I see the Bush administration as moving as fast as it dares to legitimize mafia style tactics to ensure US dominance in trade and access to natural resources including oil. This follows the example of empire builders for over 1000 years, but now alongside total war technology has developed control of media, academic and religious cults to manufacture public consent.

I've accepted an invitation as "VIP" (no active role) as former Whitlam minister
to the Nov 30, 7pm dinner at Darling Harbour celebrating Gough's 50th anniversary of his entry to parliament and 30th anniversary of his becoming PM -- proceeds to the Whitlam Institute which will house memorabilia and assist research etc.
I'll arrive in Sydney airport by Qantas 5.40 pm from Brisbane. I could have made it earlier to join your supporters and hear Pilger whom I much admire, but feel my age a bit and so just settle for this message of support:
